What we collect
Required Watching, a Required Studios production, is responsible for the information collected on this site. If you join The Frame we collect your name and email. If you unlock a free resource we collect your email, the resource you chose and whether you asked for The Frame. If you write to us we collect what you put in the contact form.
You are welcome to read, share and link to anything on Marginalia. Please do not republish complete stories without written permission.
02
How we use it
We use your details to send you the resource or newsletter you asked for and to reply to your messages. We only send you The Frame if you sign up for it or tick the box. You can unsubscribe in one click, and we never sell or share your address.
Texts belong to their authors and photographs to their photographers, licensed to Marginalia Press for publication in print and online. Short quotations with attribution are always fine.
03
Who handles it
This site is built and hosted on Framer. Form messages reach us by email, so Framer and our email provider process them on our behalf. Newsletter emails are sent through our newsletter provider. We don’t pass your details to anyone else, unless the law requires it.
The monthly letter is free and you can leave at any time. Print subscriptions renew yearly; you can cancel before renewal for a full refund of the coming year.
04
Cookies
The site shows a cookie banner so you can choose which non-essential cookies are set. Essential cookies keep the site working and can’t be switched off. You can change your choice at any time. When you unlock a free resource we also save a small note in your browser for 30 days, so we don’t ask for your email again. It stays on your device and holds no personal details.
When we commission a story we agree the fee, word count and rights in writing before you start. Unsolicited pitches remain entirely yours.
05
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or ask us to stop using them, by emailing tray@requiredwatching.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We check our facts carefully and correct mistakes openly, but we cannot accept liability for decisions made on the basis of our stories.
