Pharrell Made a Biopic in LEGO. It's Not a Joke. It's a Philosophy. | Piece by Piece

A Pharrell Williams biopic made entirely in LEGO. That sentence should make you suspicious. It made me suspicious. Then I watched it.

Piece by Piece — directed by Morgan Neville (Won't You Be My Neighbor, 20 Feet from Stardom) — is not using LEGO as a punchline. It's using it as a philosophy. Nothing is fixed. Everything can be rebuilt. A creative life isn't a straight line — it's a mosaic of failures and reinventions that don't have to match.

This is not rise-fall-redemption. It's a creative autobiography. The sound design teaches you how to layer emotion without exposition. And if you're a filmmaker, writer, or any kind of creative person working through the early part of your career — this one is going to hit you specific.
